Dan hails from Boston and studied four years of theatre arts at Boston College, the last two years of which he was very active in children's theatre. He acted in two shows (Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast) for children as a member of the Boston College troupe, Creative Dramatics. He was also the Resident Light Designer at Magic Circle, a prestigious children's theatre camp working in conjunction with Tuft's University. Over the course of two summers he designed six shows, mentored stage managers and light designers, and taught classes in physical comedy.
