Who is a Barnstormers Sponsor?
A Barnstormers sponsor is someone like you who has made the decision to invest personally in the life of a child. Your support provides the opportunity for your sponsored child to participate in a summer theatre program, offering life-changing opportunities.
Why is Barnstormers Sponsorship effective?
Sponsorship provides children with the opportunity to learn and grow through the unique experience of live theatre. During the program, Barnstormers learn how to work as a team to design, perform and produce a full-scale musical culminating in live performances for family, friends and sponsors.
What distinguishes Barnstormers Sponsorship from other sponsorship programs?
Our program focuses on creating a trusting environment where children feel free to express themselves artistically and without judgment, which is unusual for many of our campers, who come from schools with minimal to non-existent theatre arts programs. Our camp gives them a chance to learn how to sing, act, dance, paint….the list goes on!
How do children benefit from Barnstormers Sponsorship?
Studies show that children involved in theatre develop better cognitive skills, display better study habits and consistently perform higher in standardized tests. In addition, campers create life-long friendships with children from all walks of life.
What does Barnstormers Sponsorship cost?
It costs $800 to sponsor one child for the duration of the La Brea Barnstormers summer camp. For some, this is a substantial commitment. The financial sacrifice is more than warranted when you consider the incredible difference your help makes in a child's life. If a sponsor would like to contribute, but cannot provide the full tuition, a half sponsorship of $400 is welcomed and greatly appreciated.
